The Real Story
We decided to get startedon putting up the shelves in the garage on Labor Day. I turned on the shop vac and starburst started shooting out of the vacumm. The Blower was stuffed full of Starbursts, a few pieces of dog food and cough drops. While we were getting them all out (it took a while) we decided James must have stuck them in. He is into sticking things in holes. The starburst were in the box of things I buy for lunches which the kids aren't suppose to get without permission. We asked all the kids who got it down. Everyone denied it. We talked to them one on one and decided they were telling the truth. We came up with this explaination: Emma must have left them out when she'd asked about them. The dog must have chewed the bag open and James stuck them in the hole. A few days later I was getting a lightbulb down and found a few starbursts, shredded wrappers and evidence of mice in the lightbulb box. It wasn't James . . . The bag was still in the "lunch" box. I guess the mice like starburst or at least the way they smell. I had already caught 2 the previous week and the dog had caught one. They were rather tricky mice. It look about 5 tries and a different kind of mice trap to get them.
